Raub turns green as protestors clad in the colour gathered to join in the Himpunan Hijau rally today. Crowd estimate was more than ten thousand – although the police put the figure at only three thousand, according to The Malaysian Insider – who came to protest against the use of cyanide in gold mining at Bukit Koman. Opposition leaders who turned up to show solidarity included PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, PAS information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, and Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh. I wish I was there though!

The huge size of the crowd, which gathered spontaneously and voluntarily, signals the strength of public unhappiness at the manner in which Prime Minister Najib Razak has been accused of allowing hazardous industries to mushroom in his home state, Pahang.

In the EPL match between Liverpool and Arsenal, the former were soundly defeated 0-2 by the Gunners, thus consigning the Reds to their worst start to a season in 50 years. Liverpool sucks! Brendon Rodgers sucks! It’s time to sack Rodgers before the Reds implode!
