Caitlyn Jenner's Finally Free

© MAC Cosmetics

MAC Cosmetics announced on Friday that Caitlyn Jenner is partnering up with the company to sell a signature lipstick shade called Finally Free. In a press release, the brand stresses that Jenner's product "champions all ages, all races and all sexes.

"Unlike some celebrity makeup collaborations, Jenner's lipstick is here to make a change, and not only in beauty wardrobes. Hitting MAC's core values with their AIDS fund, 100 percent of the money from purchases will go towards the fund's Transgender Initiative, a cause that will hopefully help lead the charge in more social justice and acceptance for and of transgender lives.

In an exclusive interview with MAC, Jenner discusses the meaning behind the lipstick's name, Finally Free, which is a common phrase she uses to refer to herself.

Additionally, she explains why she chose the elegant pink color, telling MAC, "I wanted a lipstick that would be universal, suited to more people, and was an everyday lipstick, not just a high-glam, once-in-a-while kind of lipstick".

According to its website, VIVA GLAM campaign spokespeople "are provocative, alternative and influential and reflect diverse communities. They are heroes we look up to for their personal triumphs; people who have invented themselves and people who created movements".

Jenner's lipstick, which retails at $17, will be sold exclusively online beginning April 07, 2016.

I returned to the KL Sentral-Brickfields area again yesterday to attend the Allianz Toastmasters meeting on Tuesday. I was an invocation presenter as well as a speech evaluator for CC#6.

And I was voted Best Speech Evaluator.

MAC Puts Spotlight on Bodybuilder

In a world where we face a daily barrage of advertisements, the challenge is to capture our attention long enough to get us to become acquainted with the advertised product or brand. Advertisers are not afraid to seize the spotlight in ways that are offbeat, atypical and avant-garde. By being unconventional, it allows advertisers to engage your audience in a fresh and exciting manner.

So it is really wonderful to see a beauty advertisement that features a body builder. A female body builder, that is. Jelena Abbou, the muscular model in the MAC makeup advertisement, is a Serbian-American fitness model and poses an arresting image in a latex dress. It’s tight at the top like a corset to showcase her flat stomach, with a flared skater skirt at the bottom of the dress. Sensationally stunning.

Jelena represents MAC’s new makeup line ‘Strength.’ Jelena’s body is so different from the usual physical ideal that is shoved down women’s throats – the slim, uniformly “toned” but not muscular, waifish model body that we see in every other ad and magazine and TV show aimed at women. The Huffington Post commented that “the overall effect is pretty striking in a great way”.

This ad represents a different side to feminine beauty. Isn’t it true that at the end of the day, beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

Yesterday, I was at the Money & You Toastmasters meeting where I delivered CC speech #4 titled “The Killer”. My evaluator was Christian Leong (HELP University Toastmasters Club) and I was voted Best Speaker. I also took part in Table Topics and was voted Best Table Topics Speaker. I am making steady progress with my speeches and more importantly, I am challenging myself every time I speak. Anyway, this meeting deserves a score of a 7 out of a 10.
