Lady Gaga Finds the Perfect Labubu For Her Hermès Bag

Lady Gaga has also caught the Labubu fever!

And she has a special black and red Labubu, said to be modeled after Mother Monster herself, naturally. According to the fan account La Maison Gaga, the custom gothic-glam Labubu was designed by the Los Angeles-based artist Marko Monroe, and features the little creature in a DIY’d ruffled red outfit that is reminiscent of the one Gaga wears in the “Abracadabra” music video.

Whether Gaga (left) commissioned the Labubu or it was gifted to her remains a mystery, but one thing is for sure: The resemblance is uncanny. (Well, as much as one can resemble a spooky looking creature).

Anyway, she was spotted out and about in Malibu in California, USA on Sunday with a custom Labubu adorning her sleek black Hermès Kelly bag, according to Vogue.

A Lennon-McCartney Collab

When two musicians with famous fathers co-create a song, it's bound to attract attention. That goes double when the names attached to the song are Lennon and McCartney.

"Primrose Hill" is a gently nostalgic ditty by James McCartney with co-writing credit to Sean Ono Lennon. They are the youngest offspring of one of the most famous songwriting duos, Paul McCartney and John Lennon (of The Beatles fame).

In a picture (left) McCartney posted on Instagram, the two musicians strikingly resemble their famous Beatles fathers.

Lennon was born in 1975, five years before his dad's murder, and has carved out a respectable, if uneven, career as a musician since the 1990s, performing with his mother, Yoko Ono, as well as bands such as Cibo Matto.

James McCartney, whose mother was the late Linda McCartney, is two years younger. He began his recording career by making contributions to music by his parents in the late 1990s, but didn't begin releasing his own recordings until a decade later. On Instagram, he said the song was inspired by an idyllic boyhood memory.

Those who might be reflexively cynical about nepo-baby collabs will not be shocked to learn that the song has not performed particularly well on Spotify, where it earned fewer than 40,000 listens in the five days after its release. No matter because it is a recognizable tribute to a legendary lineage.

Just a thought. Perhaps the two can get George Harrison's son Dhani and Ringo Starr's son Zak to join them on the next track?

One of fashion's biggest nights, Met Gala 2024 falls on May 06. And it will celebrate The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition and gala titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”.

According to a release from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the theme will "explore notions of rebirth and renewal, using nature as a metaphor for the impermanence of fashion".

With around 600 attendees, the guest list is generally kept top secret until the evening before the event. Past guests have included everyone from Rihanna and Lady Gaga to Blake Lively and Kim Kardashian, all wearing unforgettable looks.

The said exhibition, which will be open to the public from May 10 through September 02, 2024, will look to bridge the gap between the natural world and fashion.

Tied to the aforementioned exhibition, the dress code is “The Garden of Time" as announced by US fashion and lifestyle magazine, Vogue.

Not missing a beat, Ryanair's take on the Met Gala 2024 theme wins over the Internet. The European budget airline shared an edited photo of one of their planes adorned with flowers and leaves, as well as a pair of lips wearing pink lipstick and writing, "Born to slay, forced to fly".

Lady Gaga Raises Eyebrows Over Partnership with Pfizer Migraine Drug

The question is asked if Lady Gaga's pockets are in the shallow?

Lady Gaga announced her new partnership with Pfizer’s Nurtec ODT migraine treatment in an Instagram carousel post featuring the singer performing onstage with the drug branding overlaid.

“Ever since childhood, I’ve dealt with migraine pain. When I tried Nurtec® ODT (rimegepant) 75 mg for the first time, I’ll never forget wishing I had found it sooner. That’s why I’m proud to partner with Nurtec ODT. 💜 We’re in this together. If you’re ready to speak to a doctor, ask about Nurtec ODT today. #MHAM”, she captioned the Instagram post on June 13.

Migraines are a type of headache with recurrent attacks of moderate to severe throbbing and pulsating pain on one side of the head, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Khloé Kardashian, featured in a couple of Nurtec ODT commercials, was the former famous face associated with the pharmaceutical brand.

Gaga, the latest celebrity to join the campaign, revealed she was diagnosed with migraines at fourteen. On Pfizer’s website, she states:

“My experience with migraines was debilitating. I would be in bed for days with tremendous pain in my head, behind my eyes, and all throughout my face. I couldn’t read or have any lights on, and I needed to be alone in a quiet room for hours that could lead to days until the pain subsided”.

The paid ad included two slides with safety information about the drug, which is “already the #1 prescribed migraine medicine in its class in the United States”, according to Nick Lagunowich, the global president of emerging markets at Pfizer.

However, the pharmaceutical giant recalled more than 4.2 million units of the Nurtec 75-milligram tablets on March 16, 2023, which includes expiration dates through June 2026, because the packaging wasn’t child-resistant and posed a poison risk.

The 13-time Grammy-winner also narrated a Nurtec ODT commercial where she performs onstage during her 2022 “Chromatica Ball” world tour.

“I know what it’s like to perform through pain. If you’re like me, one of the millions suffering from pain caused by migraine, Nurtec ODT might help. It’s the only medication that can treat a migraine when it strikes and prevent migraine attacks”, she said in the ad.

Many fans were stunned to see the “Shallow” singer promoting the pharmaceutical giant on Instagram.

“Gaga is doing paid promo for Nurtec. The recession touches all”, one fan quipped on Twitter.

Slammed another on Instagram, “Keep pushin’ big pharma… keep killing your fans”.

“Wtf is wrong with this account? Where is Gaga? Who’s doing this? How come our Mother Monster would do a sponsor for… medicine?” questioned one concerned Little Monster.

Other Little Monsters – members of Lady Gaga’s fandom – came to her defense on Twitter.

“Crazy how hypocritical this fandom is after recognizing the chronic pains Gaga suffers from the narrative of Chromatica and crucifying her for a migraine pill in the absence of their concert film 😭”, tweeted a fan.

“I actually think Lady Gaga partnering with Pfizer Nurtec® ODT is a good thing. Migraines are a big issue affecting millions”, tweeted another.

Angela Lukin, global primary care and US president of Pfizer, seconds that sentiment in a statement.

“We believe that this collaboration will help raise awareness of this often ‘silent’ disease and inspire those living with migraine to have conversations with their health-care providers about the best way to manage their condition”.

What If: A Poser for Lady Gaga

What if Lady Gaga was to give away her collection of clothes to the homeless?

For sure, skid row gets a new, fresh look! And American streets become colorful and outlandish!

Celtic will face Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-finals after seeing off a battling Dundee United on Monday.

A deflected shot from Callum McGregor (12) gave the visitors a half-time lead, while a dreadful blunder from the opposing side’s goalie resulted in a tap-in for Giorgos Giakoumakis (58). Thirty minutes later, the striker grabbed a late second goal, helping on an effort from substitute Karamoko Dembele.

The win stretches the Scottish Premiership leaders' run of unbeaten domestic games to 30.

Celtic, who have lifted the cup a record 40 times, join Rangers, Hearts and Hibernian in the last four – the first time the Glasgow and Edinburgh clubs have all made it this far together.

Masks @ MTV Video Music Awards 2020

I’m not at all surprised that Lady Gaga (left) dominated Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards and winning a total of five awards.

The VMAs was the first major awards broadcast to air since the coronavirus pandemic shuttered production in America. The hybrid program mixed video acceptances, audience-less performances, and an unearthly, unidentifiable studio base in New York City and leaned heavily on video effects and star enthusiasm.

The singer led with nine nominations and accepted awards for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Cinematography and Best Collaboration for Rain on Me and the inaugural Tricon award, which recognizes an artist who is highly accomplished across three or more disciplines.

Of course, Lady Gaga wore masks. Including one with horns, one that resembled a fish bowl, a silver mask and a pink mask with wires surrounding the mouth. She tweeted: “I was wearing face shields before it was a thing”.

In yesterday’s Scottish Premiership match, Celtic beat Motherwell 3-0.

The scoreline makes it sound so simple for Celtic – but the reigning champions really took their time before breaking down a stubborn Motherwell resistance.

However, James Forrest’s goal in the fortieth minute, followed by two late strikes from Albian Ajeti (74) and Christopher Jullien (90+2), brought Neil Lennon's side to within six points of leaders Rangers with two games in hand.

Gaga Radio

If you can't get enough of the iconic Lady Gaga (left), you can tune into her new radio show Gaga Radio that premiered on Friday, 11 AM PST (Saturday, 2 AM Malaysian time) on Apple Music – and thereafter, new episodes every Friday this month.

She says she is "super thrilled, excited to have this show and this opportunity to play an incredible mix of music every week".

Gaga aims to honor dance music by speaking with the DJs, divas, and producers who inspired her and helped bring her sixth studio album Chromatica to life.

She explains: “The symbol for Chromatica has a sine wave in it, which is the mathematical symbol for sound, and it's from what all sound is made from, and, for me, sound is what healed me in my life period, and it healed me again making this record, and that is really what Chromatica is all about”.

Here's my favorite song from her latest album – the deceptively upbeat “Fun Tonight” where she croons:

Feeling something that I can't explain

Think it's a wound I still entertain

I'd do anything to numb the flame

I guess I'm just on fire these days

I can't see straight, I can't see me

There's too much hurt caught in between

Wish I could be what I know I am

This moment’s hijacked my plans

A below-par Celtic produced a 1-1 draw in Sunday’s Scottish Premiership match against Kilmarnock.

We actually scored first – in the eleventh minute – but couldn’t build on Ryan Christie's free-kick that flew by the Killies’ goalkeeper from 35 yards. The other side’s equalizer came via a penalty just thirteen minutes later.

Sure, Celtic dominated possession but Kilmarnock were dangerous on the break – in the end, neither could add to the scoreline.

Covid-19: A Pandemic

The coronavirus outbreak has been labelled a pandemic by the World Health Organization.

WHO chief Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the number of cases outside China had increased 13-fold in two weeks. More tellingly, he said he was "deeply concerned" by "alarming levels of inaction".

We shouldn’t be too surprised by this development because Covid-19 will spread and spread, everywhere and anywhere.

And the only way to protect ourselves is to strengthen our immunity system, period.

Mikey Bustos – I had featured him twice before – gives us a Covid-19 parody that is sung to the tune of Lady Gaga’s “Stupid Love”. He calls it “Stupid Cough”.

This video even includes helpful tips indicated on the WHO website. Stay healthy and safe, everyone!

Liverpool are out of the Champions League.

Yes, we were knocked out of the competition on Wednesday by Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

The game at Anfield finished 3-2 to Atletico, meaning the aggregate score of the two games was 4-2 to the Madrid team, who had won the first game 1-0.

It also means the current title holders won't be lifting the trophy for a second consecutive season. Sigh! Life goes on lah.

And we are now a mere two days from World Speech Day 2020!

The Truth Behind that Oscar Performance

There has been much media speculation that the smoldering chemistry between Mother Monster and Rocket Raccoon had ignited a fiery romance – but finally the truth is out!

At least that was what we have been told.

Lady Gaga finally opened up about the much-talked-about duet of the stand-out track ‘Shallow’ from her movie ‘A Star is Born’ with Bradley Cooper at the 2019 Oscars.

She told Oprah Winfrey in an exclusive interview for Elle’s December 2019 issue that despite the stories circulating that the two were secretly in love because of their sizzling performance – and which instantly made headlines – it was all just a show!

Gaga candidly responded that she thought “the press is very silly”.

She explained: “I mean, we made a love story. For me, as a performer and as an actress, of course we wanted people to believe that we were in love”.

“And we wanted people to feel that love at the Oscars. We wanted it to go right through the lens of that camera and to every television that it was being watched on” she added. “And we worked hard on it, we worked for days.”

She divulged: “We mapped the whole thing out – it was orchestrated as a performance". Now, we know.

Of course, it didn’t help the rumor mill that Cooper and his then-girlfriend Irina Shayk (left) broke up not long after that. Well, talk about timing.

Besides the supposed love story, Lady Gaga also spoke about her mental health, admitting that she used to intentionally injure herself.

I can understand. Sometimes, you just want to cut yourself to ease the pain inside. When blood flows, pain eases. For a time.

“I’ve actually not opened up very much about this, but I think it’s an important thing for people to know and hear: I was a cutter for a long time, and the only way that I was able to stop cutting and self-harming myself was to realize that what I was doing was trying to show people that I was in pain instead of telling them and asking for help”, she shared.

She reiterated that she had no wish to glamorize the act and that she was “very grateful” that she didn’t do it anymore.

Still, sometimes, surviving is the worst kind of pain.

If Lady Gaga Were Filipino

I’m featuring Mikey Bustos again.

This time, he parodies Lady Gaga’s hit songs:
I have to admit that he is really good in the art of pastiche and parody.

Yesterday’s EPL match against Aston Villa saw Liverpool struggling for much of the game to deliver a knockout blow and bring home the three points. In fact, they even found themselves behind on the scoreboard.

Until the eighty-seventh minute, when Andy Robertson saved us the blushes – he scored to cancel out the Villans’ twenty-first minute goal.

Seven minutes later, Sadio Mane’s glanced a header from Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner past goalie Tom Heaton and into the far corner of the net – to give us a 2-1 win. Phew!

I guess, for the Reds, the games are never over until the final whistle. Yes, yes – but it doesn’t help my heart at all!

As Jurgen Klopp himself admitted: “We still have to learn, we still have to improve and we will. Sometimes you have to get knocks and we’ve had a lot already for little mistakes but in the end, so far, we’ve been able to sort it”.

Todate, twenty-eight games unbeaten.

Lady Gaga @ Stonewall Day

Lady Gaga (right) delighted crowds on Friday when she appeared at a New York City celebration commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, a gay rights watershed moment.

"I really, really hope you celebrate every inch of who you are today", said the pop superstar, long beloved by the LGBTQ community, at the bash in Manhattan, NYC in the US of A.

"You were born this way and you are superstars", she shouted to applause, referencing the title of her 2011 hit Born This Way that became a gay rights anthem.

The June 1969 riots, sparked by repeated police raids on the Stonewall Inn – a well-known gay bar in Christopher Street in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Lower Manhattan – proved to be a turning point in the LGBTQ community's struggle for civil rights.

"I look at the older generation and how you have fought to create a safe, more tolerant space for our youth", said Gaga, clad in thigh-high glittering rainbow platform boots, denim booty shorts with rainbow fringe and a rainbow jacket over a black bandeau bra.

"It used to be unheard of to even come out of the closet", the 33-year-old continued, saying that today many children "are aware of their ability to discover and name their own sexual identities; their own gender identities. They are finding themselves and they are not as afraid".

She acknowledged: "You did that! You created that space".

Stonewall Day comes before a weekend featuring performances by Madonna, Alicia Keys and Grace Jones, along with appearances by Donatella Versace, Chelsea Clinton and Whoopi Goldberg – they’re all part of World Pride NYC, which culminates on June 30 with the annual NYC Pride March on Fifth Avenue.

It will be the sixth edition of World Pride, which began in Rome in 2000 and brought together droves of people from across the world.

Met Gala 2019

For celebrities, the annual Met Gala is a perfect opportunity to show the world how famous, fashionable and flamboyant they are.

I find it all very loud – but even so, Lady Gaga seemed able to surpass everybody else!

Anyway, on Monday, Mother Monster walked the Met Gala 2019 carpet in four different outfits:

Lady Gaga showed wearing a Brandon Maxwell gown, featuring billowing sleeves, a full skirt, and a breathtaking cape. Never one to shy away from high drama, she topped the look off with a matching bow fastened to her platinum hair as she glided down the red carpet shielded by a flurry of black umbrellas.

Naturally, her makeup was just as eclectic, with long needle-like pieces protruding from her eyelashes, an attention-grabbing cat eye, and hot pink lipstick to match her gown. But she wasn't done there – in fact, she had just started.

She soon removed her magenta gown to reveal a black strapless dress with a full skirt. For this look, she held her own corresponding umbrella, looped around her wrist like a bracelet.

Lady Gaga's third outfit was just as memorable: a skin-tight Barbie pink dress with spaghetti straps, in which she posed while holding a giant retro cell phone. With a set of oversized Linda Farrow sunglasses, she was full Old Hollywood glam with a side of 1980's drama.

For her fourth and final act, she stripped down to a matching black bra and underwear set, which she paired with sheer stockings and, surprisingly, lace-up stiletto boots. She posed with a gold and pink hat-filled wagon, reading "Haus of Gaga" across the front – perhaps a nod to her new beauty line?

It was truly the pièce de résistance of the entire look... or should we say looks. Leave it to Lady Gaga to turn the Met Gala red carpet into her own incredible performance.

The Met Gala is held every May in New York, USA to celebrate the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's latest exhibition, with guests asked to dress to match the theme.

This year's exhibition is Camp: Notes on Fashion, and guests were encouraged to be as theatrical and colorful as possible.

Speaking ahead of the Gala on Monday, the exhibition's head curator Andrew Bolton said: "In the end, the purpose of camp is to put a smile on our faces and a warm glow in our hearts”.

Whatever he may want us to believe, methinks it is nothing more than a fancy dress party for the fabulously rich.
