Photos Najib Would Love to See

A web portal news report on September 6, 2012 called our attention to opposition Senator S Ramakrishnan who had in the previous week alleged that The Star's August 21 front page photograph from Bernama had been digitally manipulated to support the claim that "tens of thousands of people" had been present at Prime Minister Najib Razak's Hari Raya open house. However, Yong Soo Heong, the editor-in-chief of Bernama, which is the government-run national news agency, had denied the allegation even though many still remained unconvinced.

[I don’t know about you but I found that in the photo – see above – the boy on the left with his left hand hoisting the Jalur Gemilang seemed a little unnatural, don’t you think? And how do you keep a flag flying? Hmmm, somebody must have placed a standing fan nearby to point it at the flag…]

Whatever lah, Najib would like to believe he is a natural crowd-puller! But then again, his wife may beg to differ. Rosmah may just believe that the massive crowd of Malaysians who came was for her! Actually they came hoping to catch a glimpse of the $24 million diamond ring and her collection of Birkin bags! The Najib-Rosmah pair loves to syiok sendiri!

We should give this Yong fella the benefit of doubt. If he says there is no digital image manipulation, then we must believe so. Najib continues to insist that he is so-o-o popular and that is why Malaysians can’t seem to get enough of him! That is why his events are always overflowing with people – at least that’s what he wants us to believe.

Hot on the heels of this photo story is a similar situation where netizens begun to cast doubts on yet another photograph that was published by the New Straits Times – it was taken at Najib’s gathering in Pekan last Saturday. It has been alleged that the said photo was doctored to make the crowd appear bigger in numbers.

Anyway, the digitally manipulated photograph had exact duplicates of part of the crowd in the background and this had begun circulating on Facebook since it appeared in the newspaper's Sunday edition.

I don’t know if it is a coincidence or not but the common denominator in the two photos mentioned above is that it involves Najib Razak. Uh-huh!

I just had a thought. Maybe all those “extras” in the photos were spirits wandering on this earth and making a courtesy call to the Prime Minister – after all, this happened during the Hungry Ghost month! [Note: In 2012, this fell on August 17 to September 15].
