The fourth industrial revolution is already under way – a revolution characterized by discontinuous technological development in areas like artificial intelligence (AI), big data, fifth-generation telecommunications networking (5G), nanotechnology and biotechnology, robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and quantum computing. 

And China is smack in the middle of it. 

According to one report dated October 10, 2019, China is the world leader in patent applications with 40 percent of the global total, a share more than two times larger than that of the United States. 

I have no doubt that the country is on the verge of becoming a high-tech behemoth. Truly, China has been making great strides – as reflected in these “Thought Bubble” cartoons:
