On Monday, I returned to Emspaced in KL Sentral to serve as the Toastmaster for the KL Advanced Toastmasters club meeting.
I had chosen the theme "Life Lessons from Cartoons", providing an expressive anchor that brought back childhood nostalgia, and in the process, elevated the club’s atmosphere and made it magically memorable. Club president Prada Tan predictably ripped up the standard agenda, letting her imagination call the shots and injecting raw, creative chaos into the meeting.
After all, themed meetings not only enhance the club’s energy but also provide an enriching and enlightening experience for both members and guests.
It was a high-energy, engaging session that stood in stark contrast to earlier iterations of the club. Looking back to when it was "managed" by MA Lakhmichand (popularly known as Lucky or Cosy Amar on Facebook), the atmosphere used to be defined by a rather staid solemnity.
Monday's meeting proved just how far the club's vibrant culture has come. Much of this remarkable transformation can be attributed to the dynamic leadership of Prada Tan, alongside strong, unwavering support from Rohijas MD Sharif (VPE), Yuli Leong (VPM), and Philip Wong (IPP).
