And it was yesterday too that MH17 which was on a scheduled flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur went down in the eastern Ukraine "war zone" – it was allegedly shot down by a surface-to-air missile – killing all 283 passengers and 15 crew members.
Malaysia Airlines has confirmed that the aircraft did not make a distress call.
