Police were on the lookout for Batman villain Joker – or so residents were notified!
Phones in Missouri in midwestern USA received an odd emergency alert from the state highway patrol on Tuesday, advising "Gotham City, MO" denizens to look out for a purple/green 1978 Dodge 3700 GT with license plate number "UKIDME".
If you didn’t know, that happens to be a matching description of the vehicle used by Jack Nicholson as the Joker in the 1989 film "Batman".
The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued a statement later that day admitting the advice was sent inadvertently and "meant to be a test message, THERE WAS NO ALERT".
Of course lah, that's what the Joker would want us to think!
Brains are awesome – I only wish everybody had one! Believe it or not, even during Covid times, stupidity still holds sway!
