Covid-19 Lands Malaysia in the Stratosphere

Covid-19 numbers in Malaysia remain in the stratosphere.

Today, six new clusters – of which two are in Selangor, i.e. Sungai Putus and Erima clusters, and one in KL, i.e. Tapak Bina Jalan Berangan cluster.

Yesterday, three new clusters were detected in Selangor-KL, namely, the Jalan Bukit construction site cluster in Selangor and the Condong construction site and the Jalan Stadium construction site clusters in Kuala Lumpur.

The Health Director-General said most of the Selangor cases on Thursday were from the Seruling workplace cluster as well as the Hentian cluster involving Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Negeri Sembilan.

The biggie clusters:

Our predicament is dire.

Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah informed us that the cases in Selangor are expected to remain high – and that's because widespread screenings for foreign workers are currently taking place. A neat excuse if I ever heard one!

Malaysians already know that a majority of the reported cases are workplace infections and they mainly involve foreign workers!

We also know that the authorities’ initial indifference and passivity is responsible for the situation we find ourselves in. If the people in authority have any self-respect, they’ll hang their heads in shame and resign.

We have witnessed a steady rise in coronavirus cases. I know it is just a matter of days before we overtake China! That is, indeed, a scary proposition!

FYI, China sits in position #79 and we are already at #80. As at today, 13:31 GMT, 6,379 cases separate the two countries!

We don't need to be a genius to know that those in charge have failed to contain the pandemic.
