68 Million Cases

Another one million cases have been added – bringing the total to 68 million cases. As of now, it is already 68.5 million cases.

Myanmar and Palestine have joined the ranks of countries which recorded 100,000 or more Covid-19 cases. All sixty-nine countries’ cases and deaths added together account for 96.2% and 97.1% respectively of the world’s total.

Myanmar is the third Southeast Asian nation, after Indonesia and Philippines – and Malaysia may be next, unless we can contain the pandemic. FYI, for six days in a row, our caseload is in four digits!

We’re still not seeing pro-active measures beyond just keeping faith with the SOPs. I guess, Malaysians already know they should reduce their expectations because the powers-that-be are seriously trapped in a fog.

People in authority like Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah and Ismail Sabri Yaakob always present themselves as being placid and reposeful – but behind the cameras, I imagine them to be actually looking a little pained and discombobulated. I'm sure they are keenly aware that the Covid-19 numbers are still very high. They cannot pretend lah!

I'm definitely not putting my trust in them to get us out of this quagmire!
