Kashveena Mahendran was a first-time organizer and host for Wednesday's World Speakers' Coalition Kuala Lumpur meet-up.
Eight members turned up. And we even celebrated the August birthdays of 3 of our members – Alan, Samuel and Cyril.
Kash had proposed the theme "Mid-Year Review" – of course, this particular topic veered towards a non-work orientation.
To be sure, we shared solemn stuff, sort of. One's own exploits. Life encounters of a personal kind. Learning episodes.
But not everything was serious. There were some lighthearted moments too. Samuel reviewed the RM22 Hainanese chicken chop he had, among other things. Alan undertook an appreciative review of this speakers' club we belong to – and we agreed with him that a special bond exists among us and that we have forged a friendship that we believe is lasting and enduring. Victor didn't want us to lose sight of our goal(s) even as we did a review. And he segued to the idea of happiness – don't we all want to be happy? Still, he attested that it can be elusive, but he rightly acknowledged that we can be happy if we make our minds up to be.
Overall, a notable meeting with noteworthy member-friends.
And oh yes, again(!), the venue was at Decanter, the same venue in Seksyen 17, Petaling Jaya.
