Scotland's Alba Party have come under fire after they issued a campaign leaflet featuring a cartoon of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as a vampire with oil dripping from his 'fangs'.
The image was called out by Tory MSP Murdo Fraser who said it was "more than a little distasteful" for the first "Asian heritage Prime Minister being depicted in this way".
She went on to claim that it was an "interesting" update of a famous 80s SNP campaign poster about Margaret Thatcher that peddled the claim that England was taking "Scotland's oil". The leaflets claim to expose the "Great British Energy Swindle" and calls on voters to join the pro-independence party fronted by Alex Salmond.
Like the retro poster, the new leaflet reads: “No wonder he’s laughing, he’s got Scotland’s oil”.
