Donald Trump Beers

An Illinois brewery in the US of A, Spiteful Brewing has just launched Dumb Donald this week.

No, not the dumbass who is the Republican nominee – but a double India pale ale brewed with sour lime flavors. I suppose it is a nod to his pronouncements that are deemed sour and distasteful.

According to the beer's label: “Dumb Donald is, well, dumb. So dumb in fact, we named a beer after him. It's like he got caught in a pause halfway through evolution. His brain still functions, at a minimal level with a vocabulary of a second grade student…”. And the accompanying illustration shows Trump’s head attached to an ape body, sandwiched between an ape and a fully-fledged man.

BTW, the Chicago-based brewery don’t want their beer to be seen as a political statement, but instead as a warning about stupidity.

‘Dumb Donald’ is not the only brew to poke fun at Trump.

Philadelphia’s Dock Street Brewery, in April 2016, have released their first beer in their anti-Trump range, lovingly named the Short-Fingered Stout – a reference to the size of the 69-year-old real estate mogul's hands – describing it as “a bitter and delusional stout with an airy, light-colored head atop a so-so body”.

And although it’s packed with flavor, the microbrewery don’t want you to fear its potency. “Don't worry, its bark is worse than its bite; this big baby comes in at a somewhat conservative 4.5 percent ABV,” the label description reads.

The beverage is being sold in a bottle with a label that features a mock image of Trump and the slogan. 'Friends Don't Let Friends Vote Drumpf' (Note: Drumpf is the original name of Trump's ancestors).

The second beer in the series, Drumple IPA, is currently on tap at the brewery. The double IPA comes in at a more robust 8.5 percent ABV, and is described by Dock Street as, "orange in color, it seems sweet and innocent enough at first but is bitter to the very end. Loaded with flavor and aroma, this beer can be appreciated by all sorts of beer drinkers – unlike certain presidential candidates”.

And who can forget Chicago’s 5 Rabbit Cerveceria, the Latino-owned brewery which renamed their summer golden ale Chinga Tu Pelo – a reference to Trump’s hairdo and the brewmaster's suggestion as to what should be done with it.

If you must know, it is a Latin-American insult that literally translates to "fuck your hair".

That beer started out as Trump Golden Ale and was served in Trump Tower in Chicago. But that was before the GOP presidential candidate’s controversial comments on Mexican immigrants became public. He had labelled them rapists and drug dealers.

Even faraway New Zealand got into the act. An Auckland-based brewery, Behemoth introduced their Dump the Trump India pale ale in March, featuring a caricature of the well-coiffed Trump on the label.
