I stand corrected. There was something on yesterday in conjunction with IWD. I chanced upon this Star pullout, Central Metro and there’s a photo of MBPJ councilor (I.e Tiew Way Keng) helping a Section 51 resident (i.e. Wong Kiaw) pick out a rose. Tiew and Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lau Weng San had handed out 1500 roses at the SS9A market in Sungai Way to mark International Women’s Day (The Star, March 08, 2010, p M1). It’s a nice gesture, but I wish we could have organized something more meaningful than just the symbolic act of giving out roses.
And in this morning's EPL game between Liverpool and Wigan, the Reds lost by a solitary goal. Pathetic.
