Relegation-threatened Wolverhampton Wanderers humiliated Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Saturday with an easy 3-0 win over the Reds, who are yet to win in the Premier League this year. 

 

In their best performance of the season, Wolves cut through Liverpool’s shaky defence from the off, missing two good chances before a forward’s cutback went in off the heel of Joel Matip for a fifth minute own goal. Seven minutes later as Liverpool failed to clear inside their own box, Wolves scored. And in a counter-attack in the seventy-first minute, Wolves struck again. 

 

Defeat, and a deserved one, means Liverpool are firmly stuck in mid-table anonymity. They’re in 10th place after 20 games played. 

 

Asked if he believes in his own ability to turn things around for the Reds, Klopp responded: "Yes. Absolutely". For me, I am not sure at all! 

 

His next challenge is February 13 when Liverpool meet Everton at Anfield. 

 

Surely, the Toffees must fancy their chances because Klopp doesn’t seem to have a plan to win games. Or if Klopp still thinks he has one, only he knows – and it is certainly not working. 

 

It’s time for all Reds to be honest – Liverpool are shite!
