Code Red for Humanity

A landmark UN climate report is sounding the alarm that global warming could make parts of the world uninhabitable. 

It is warning that heatwaves, droughts and flooding seen worldwide will only become more extreme and that action is required immediately to prevent climate catastrophy. 

It’s a "code red for humanity. 

In strong tones, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change document says "it is unequivocal that human influence has warmed the atmosphere, oceans and land". 

The said report is the first major review of the science of climate change since 2013. Its release comes less than three months before a key climate summit in Glasgow in Scotland, UK known as COP26. 

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson (right), who is hosting the conference, noted the report showed help was needed for countries bearing the brunt of climate change and saying "today's report makes for sobering reading, and it is clear that the next decade is going to be pivotal to securing the future of our planet". 

Under the 2015 Paris Agreement, more than 190 governments agreed the world should limit global warming to 2C or ideally 1.5C above pre-industrial levels. 

But the new report says that under all scenarios, both targets will be broken this century unless huge cuts in carbon take place.

Until and unless, governments take urgent action, the world will suffer the devastating consequences!
