Ray of Hope

The above painting, "Ray of Hope" has got to be my #1 favorite amongst the artworks from Sumithra Art thus far. I mean, they are all beautiful pieces but this one, I love it!

Yesterday, the Reds soundly beat the Gunners 3-0 in a victory that leaves them in fifth place. 

The only surprise was that it took dominant Liverpool so long to make their superiority count. They finally got the breakthrough they deserved after 64 minutes when Diogo Jota headed Trent Alexander-Arnold's brilliant delivery past the Arsenal goalkeeper. 

Liverpool doubled their lead four minutes later when Mohamed Salah took advantage of poor defending to slide the ball into the net. 

Jota was the beneficiary of more good work from Alexander-Arnold when he slammed home his second from close range with eight minutes left – by then, though, the game had become a formality.

With a Champions League quarter-final first leg away to Real Madrid on Tuesday, Liverpool suddenly look like a team with renewed purpose and momentum. Hopefully, this sense of purpose and momentum will carry on. 

Also on the same day, Celtic beat Falkirk 3-0 in a Scottish Cup match.

James Forrest scored in the fifty-sixth minute as the former overcame the latter's stubborn resistance in the third round. The winger found the net with the aid of a deflection after the League 1 leaders had kept the Scottish Cup holders at bay for 55 minutes. 

Ryan Christie's low strike two minutes later quickly doubled the lead. 

And substitute Mohamed Elyounoussi's deft chip in the seventy-ninth minute gave Celtic a scoreline that better reflected their dominance. 

This victory maintains their hopes of a record-extending fifth successive Scottish Cup.
