Facebook Users Equal China’s Population

Facebook now has as many users as there are people in China, the company said. The number of people checking into Facebook at least once a month rose 14 percent to 1.35 billion in this third quarter of 2014, roughly on par with the Chinese population, which stands at 1.357 billion.

Meanwhile, the number of people checking their accounts every day soared by almost a fifth to 864 million – more than the entire population of Europe, estimated at 750 million. And a lot of that usage was driven by people logging in on their mobiles.

The surge in popularity helped Facebook increase revenues and this means profits nearly doubled to $1.1 billion. Wow!

A look at the physical condition of my District 51 Directory 2013-2014 will surely tell you how well it is being used.

Lucky Liverpool. The Reds left it late to score two goals to beat Swansea 2-1 and reach the League Cup last eight. In yesterday’s game, the goals for Liverpool came from Mario Balotelli (86) and Dejan Lovren (90) while Swans striker Marvin Emnes opened scoring in the sixty-fifth minute.

Brendan Rodgers must have sighed a huge relief after this timely win. After all, Swansea are no pushovers – in the EPL table, they perch one position above Liverpool after nine matches.
