Obese Because of Not Enough Money

A 350-pound British woman (left) declare it’s not her fault she’s outrageously obese – it’s because the government doesn’t give her enough money!

Christina Briggs, 26, of Wigan, England, claims she can only eat fattening junk food – a whole lot of it – for the simple reason that healthier food is just too expensive for her “limited” welfare benefits, according to an interview in UK’s The Daily Mail. Briggs stuffs her kids with PopTarts, chocolate fingers, chips, salsa, and Marshmellow Fluff, along with her fast food takeout. Apparently she’s never been “educated” about apples, bananas or grapes.

And if you dare her to exercise to lose weight – Briggs will just respond that gyms are just too pricey, and she also hasn’t been “educated” on how to exercise herself. She even had the audacity to illustrate her predicament. She said that she had tried swimming but it cost £22 ($36) a month and it meant she had to cut back on her favorite pizza and Chinese takeaways – and she is just not prepared to make that sacrifice.

Briggs already receives a remarkable $36,000 a year from the government. Plus she pays absolutely nothing for monthly home expenses. She lives in public housing with her two children by two different fathers. Including housing, healthcare and many other miscellaneous reimbursements, Briggs receives more than $62,000 a year in total government largesse, more than many working professionals. Yet, she describes all of these as “limited” benefits.

But Briggs reckons she ought to get more. “It would be good if the government offered a cash incentive for me to lose weight.” Closer Magazine reports. She is hinting that her generous welfare payments could be a lot better.

Fat chance! She should get less, not more.  All Briggs ever care about is indulging in a feeding frenzy! Simply put, her life is one big equation that marries gluttony with idleness!

On Wednesday, I was at the Subang Toastmasters meeting. I even delivered a CC speech #7 Research Your Topic and my evaluator was Division D Governor, Lim Thian Seng. Needless to say, I was voted Best Speaker. A good meeting overall and I would score it a 7.5 over 10. Good to see Sunway University Toastmaster Wong Jia Wei also present.
