Long a disparaging term to refer to police, a pig is hardly the symbol that law and enforcement officers would like to display. But a prank image of a pig did manage to stealthily sneak into the US state police decal that goes onto police cars, and thirty of the cruisers have been showing off the pig for the last year.
The police emblem shows a – legitimate – cow among other pastoral details and the pig is drawn cleverly, although hardly discreetly, into the regular splotches on the cow’s hide.

State officials finally noticed on Thursday and traced the prank to a prison printing shop in Saint Albans, the Burlington Free Press said. Apparently an inmate who makes stationery and license plates pulled a fast one on state police four years ago was able to modify the computer program and inserted the extra image.
I was hoping to have more information before I blogged about this but it would seem that the details were very sketchy. Yes, the police have nabbed ten people over the derogatory posters that were put up in KL’s Taman Tun Dr Ismail – my blog posting yesterday refers. Their statements were recorded and they were released on bail. And that's it! I wonder, why the haste to release them? Everything – from arrest to taking down statements – were done speedily! Wow, talk about police efficiency! This story actually first appeared in Star Online before it was picked up by The Malaysian Insider yesterday itself.
