Missouri Wins $24B Judgment Against China in Covid Case

A judge in the US state of Missouri has held the Chinese government accountable for covering up the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic and stockpiling protective equipment (PPE). In his judgment on Friday, US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri Judge Stephen N Limbaugh directed China to pay $24 billion in compensation. 

The Missouri attorney general's office had initiated legal proceedings in April 2020, during the pandemic's initial phase. 

“This is a landmark victory for Missouri and the United States in the fight to hold China accountable for unleashing Covid-19 on the world", Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey (right) said, as reported by the New York Post. What a pile of BS!

The Chinese government did not respond to the claims in court. 

Why should China bear the blame? This whole case stinks to high heaven – it is all just abhorrent, absurd and asinine! 

The authors of "The Diamond in Your Speech" and "The Pearls of Your Speech", Ahmad Fakhri & Victor Ong were invited to give a 30-minute talk "Confidence & Charisma" at Open University Malaysia on Saturday. It affords us a platform to promote our two books.

As expected, it was embedded into the OUM Toastmasters Club meeting and which was jointly organized together with the Damansara Toastmasters Club. Seventeen people turned up, of whom three were non-Toastmasters.

Both Ahmad and I took up roles. Ahmad was the General Evaluator and I was the Grammarian.
