Night Out Test for Sales Jobs

Job interviews can be notoriously stressful, filled with preparation and a constant fear of curveballs. But one boss has gone viral on Reddit for his unconventional approach to hiring sales engineers: a night out with a hidden test. 

 

This method involves taking candidates for drinks and observing their behavior after intoxication. One job seeker had shared a story about this experience – and the ethical implications of judging someone based on their inebriated state are sparking debate. 

 

The Reddit user wrote, "I interviewed with a company recently who told me about their process for interviewing sales engineers. They would go about the normal interview, but that evening, they would all go out for drinks and try to pump the recruits full of alcohol". He further explained that was how the top executives select candidates for their sales engineer positions. 

 

After all, in sales, a huge part of the job is relationship building. That means drinking with clients. Of course, this depends on the industry and country. And the question many people will ask is whether you can do your job effectively if you don't drink.

 

Coming back to the company, the test was not assessed by how much you can drink but how candidates handled themselves after drinking. And so, those candidates who became overly intoxicated received rejections.

The finishing has been awful and it is a maddening issue all season. Many a time, it looks like a training ground session when scoring isn’t essential. It must be acknowledged that the Reds clocked up 28 shots, generated 3.59 xG, and created seven big chances only to end up with as many goals as their opponents managed nine shots, 0.71 xG and one big chance. A dreadful state of affairs!

 

Whether Jürgen Klopp cares to admit it or not, this game epitomised why Liverpool are not going to win the title.
