Surges of coronavirus infections are seen in a cluster of countries – and the worldwide tally is now more than 16.5 million cases.
To be exact, 16,635,927 cases (as at today, 00:00 GMT).
Five countries – three of which are ASEAN countries – deserve special mention this time around.
And today, at 00:00 GMT, South Africa and UK reported 450,000 and 300,000 cases respectively. And Indonesia also registered 100,000 cases.
Oh yes, the US recorded 150,444 deaths!
