“Malaysia will not apply for the extradition of Raja Petra Kamaruddin. The Attorney General of Malaysia Ghani Patail is completely aware that he will have to put across Malaysia’s case to a junior magistrate in a lower court in London. That would be tantamount to subjecting the entire judiciary to scrutiny in a jurisdiction that is not exactly Singapore or Zimbabwe. That would in turn be a betrayal of the nation as we would all be subject to ridicule of the kind a flood of Noah’s Ark proportions would not be enough to wash away. It would be recklessly careless of the Attorney General to even attempt to communicate with the British police or their judiciary or authorities”.
I read the above comments by a Paul Warren dated May 23, 2010 on blogpage http://anilnetto.com/human-rights/rpk-receives-standing-ovation-in-london/, and I realized he is correct – no way will the Malaysian authorities try to embark on a foolish adventure to bring him back to Malaysia. The potential misstep could make the country keel over and sink with embarrassment into the South China Sea – and we don’t want that, do we?
