It's already a month since my last post on our second book, "The Pearls of Your Speech" (or TPOYS, as I would like to refer to it), we're glad to report on the progress made thus far.
We daresay 90% of the "book" is completed – the illustrations incorporated, the layout's done, the cover design approved, et cetera. This will be a "thicker" book at 220 pages (including the covers). Of course lah, with nineteen chapters wad.
BTW, we're going for a print run of one thousand copies.
We've also submitted our ISBN and CIP applications to Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia (National Library of Malaysia).
[Note: To publish a book, one must apply for an International Standard Book Number (ISBN), also known as Nombor Buku Piawaian Antarabangsa in Malay. The number works as an identification for each book, which is important in the management of book orders and book inventory for publishers and distributors. After receiving the ISBN, we must also apply for a Cataloguing in Publication (CIP) record. CIP, also known as Pengkatalogan Dalam Penerbitan (PDP) in Malay, is a system for classifying and cataloguing literature resources and creating a collection catalogue].
There's still a wee bit more to do with regard to tidying the layout, a tad more of work on the back cover and a touch more of final checking – before we can send it to the printers.
We're still optimistic TPOYS will be out next month!
