Rosmah Mansor Acquitted of 17 Money Laundering, Tax Evasion Charges

Malaysia's High Court today discharged and acquitted Rosmah Mansor (right) of 12 charges of money laundering involving RM7,097,750, as well as five charges of failing to declare her income to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB). 

 

Judge K Muniandy granted an order of acquittal after allowing the wife of former Prime Minister, Najib Razak's application to have all charges against her quashed. The application was based on the grounds that the charges were illegal and flawed. Note: Rosmah had filed the application to strike out the charges in September 2023.

 

The Attorney-General's Chambers said they intend to file an appeal. 

 

Rosmah was charged in the Sessions Court on October 04, 2018, before the case was transferred to the High Court.
