We can finally announce that the manuscript is done and dusted. We've put in what we've wanted to write. We've completed self-editing. And it has just gone through external editing.

 

Certainly, we can't stress enough the importance of editing. Just to affirm, script editing refers to fine-tuning or revising the content to eliminate errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, phrasing, etc. More importantly, it includes correcting the manuscript's logical flow, structure, format, and tone to improve its overall quality, coherence, and readability.

 

Of course, we know that the discipline of regularly revisiting and refining one’s work fosters a keener eye for detail, an appreciation for narrative cohesion, and a sensitivity to the rhythm and flow of language. Engaging with feedback, whether from self-assessment, beta readers, or professional editors, broadens an author’s perspective, offering valuable lessons in reader engagement and expectation management.

 

Ultimately, editing is an invaluable tool for any writer, shaping not just individual manuscripts but also honing the craft of writing itself. It’s through this iterative process of creation, critique, and correction that writers evolve, enhancing their ability to pen their thoughts and ideas that fills up a manuscript that resonates, captivates, and endures. 

 

I must say the whole process took a longer time than our maiden 2022 book did; it was meticulous, rigorous and thorough. For sure, "The Pearls of Your Speech" benefited from this.
