Finally, Rais Yatim has revealed himself and The Sun today has him on page 1 refuting allegations, including of rape, made against him by bloggers and political parties – and describing them as “…awful, ugly and wicked lies”.
Teoh Beng Hock’s sister Lee Lan made a passionate plea to Prime Minister Najib Razak to honor his vow to her family and set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry into her brother’s death. “We are disappointed. We are not satisfied. We want the truth,” she said repeatedly (Star, January 06, 2011, p N4).
The companies involved in the BP oil spill – BP, Halliburton, and Transocean – made decisions to cut costs and save time that contributed to the disaster, the US panel officially called the “National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling” has found. In a 48-page report, the presidential commission wrote that the failures were "systemic" and likely to recur without industry and government reform (BBC News, posted January 06, 2011).
Blackburn comprehensively defeated Liverpool 3-1. As a Liverpool fan, I am embarrassed. And I say it again: Sack Hodgson!
