US President Donald Trump claims China’s economy is “doing badly” and “collapsing”. Of course, thanks to his brilliant strategy of imposing tariffs on China and igniting a trade war.
News that China is failing is nothing new. Since the 1990s, there has been almost unbroken predictions that the country is backsliding badly and will surely implode. But they're all wrong about China.

The orange-haired guy doesn't know that the Chinese economy is a lot more resilient than he thinks.
In fact, recent data shows continued, though slower, growth. Experts and IMF projections contradict the collapse narrative, citing only modest factory slowdowns and no signs of recession.
In the meantime, the US economy is wobbling. I daresay its second-quarter GDP report is not likely to improve as the effects of Trump’s levies become more pronounced. I actually expect it to be brutal.
