Third Apparent Donald Trump Assassination Attempt

US Police believed they have foiled a third assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump (right), arresting a Las Vegas man with multiple guns and fake entry passes outside Saturday's Coachella rally in California.

 

A man later identified as 49-year-old Ven Miller driving a black SUV with a fake license plate was stopped at a police checkpoint, approximately 400 meters from the rally venue. When stopped, police noticed his access pass was fraudulent, sparking concern. Police then discovered the man had a shotgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine in his possession.

 

Police did not initially release the information – instead waiting until late Sunday local time to share the news.

 

“We probably stopped another assassination attempt”, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco told the Riverside Press-Enterprise.

Malaysia's Federal Court had set aside the death penalty on Thursday for a former police commando convicted of the murder of a Mongolian woman, sentencing him instead to 40 years in jail and twelve strokes of the cane. The change comes after Malaysia abolished the mandatory death penalty on July 04, 2023, allowing those on death row to seek review of their sentences.

 

Azilah Hadri had been handed the death penalty after being found guilty of the 2006 murder of 28-year-old Altantuya Shaariibuu (left), a model and interpreter to a former associate of former Prime Minister Najib Razak.

 

After Azilah’s death sentence was commuted, Altantuya’s family said today, they want Malaysia to bring Sirul Azhar Umar, another police commando and Azilah's accomplice, back from Australia – where he fled to – for justice. 

 

[Note: Sirul has been in Australia for years, as Australia’s policy is that it cannot extradite or deport individuals if they will face death in that country].
