Hey, folks! Boeing are in US news again!
United Airlines' Flight 354 that was departing out of San Francisco, California had to make an emergency landing on Monday. The Boeing 757-200 was diverted to Denver International Airport in Colorado after an issue with one of its wings.
The wife of a passenger (Kevin Clarke) on board the flight shared a video of the wing online, which appears to show pieces missing from the flap.
"My husband Kevin’s United flight from San Francisco to Boston just made an emergency landing in Denver", Kimberley Clarke said in a Facebook post. "The wing was coming apart in the air! Everyone is safe thank God".
In Denver, Clarke and the other 164 passengers boarded a new plane.
Clarke ultimately landed at his final destination at Boston Logan Airport in Massachusetts about three hours later than scheduled, telling Boston 25 News he was just glad to be alive!
Japan is very desperate to push seafood exports to Southeast Asia.
The Japanese government invited ambassadors from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam to visit Tokyo's sprawling Toyosu fish market (pic below) where the tuna auction takes place.
They visited the wholesale market floor and even got tips on how to taste scallops and sea cucumber.
They also sampled fresh scallops from the northern prefecture of Hokkaido and yellowtail sashimi from the Hokuriku region in central Japan.
China was previously the main overseas destination for Japanese seafood shipments. But last year Beijing banned imports because of grave health concerns from the release of treated waste water from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the ocean.
The Japanese government are pinning their hopes on Southeast Asia to make up for the shortfall.
