[V]olodymyr [Z]elensky Wants to Show Up at World Cup Final

Ukraine President [V]olodymyr [Z]elensky (left) had wanted to show up at the World Cup final to broadcast his BS propaganda – only to be obstructed by football’s governing body, FIFA, according to a report Friday. 

 

A source told CNN that [Z]elensky had asked to appear via video link at Sunday’s event in Qatar to address the worldwide audience of millions. 

 

But the offer was rebuffed, the source said, shocking the office of the president who has delivered many similar addresses, including at the Grammys and the Cannes Film Festival. 

 

I am glad that FIFA don't allow the football game to be politicized. No good will come of it.

 

Ukraine has not given up, however, and talks are still underway, the source has claimed. 

 

I’m confident FIFA will stick to their guns. Besides, no [Z]elensky means no politics of deceit and lies! 

 

In the Scottish Premiership game between Celtic and Aberdeen today, the former secured three points when they beat the latter 1-0.

In truth, Celtic should have had the game sewn up long before – but the Dons goalie had been brilliant, denying Liel Abada, Reo Hatate, Jota, and others. Kyogo Furuhashi had the best chance of the lot, but somehow side-footed Abada's cross wide from a few yards out. 

 

As Tom English, BBC Scotland's chief sports writer said: “Lots of teams in Scotland have had a real go at Celtic. St Mirren beat them and other teams have pushed them close, but none have been as one-sided as that. Celtic had 33 shots to Aberdeen's two”.
