PAS is not a party to make bold predictions. They work diligently on the ground and they keep their heads down. They also let their partners, PKR and DAP do most of the talking. This time around, Mustafa Ali, secretary-general of the Islamist party informed Sinar Harian that PR would be able to retain its hold on all the states it won in the election four years ago. Not only that but he was quoted as saying that PR is confident of winning Perak, Terengganu, Negri Sembilan, Johor and Malacca (Webpage http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/southern-tsunami-for-pakatan-at-ge13-says-pas/, published May 31, 2012). I do not intend to argue whether this claim is just a boast or it is a real possibility. For many right-minded Malaysians, we can only pray and hope that he is right!
The Youth and Sports Minister (left) has dragged the Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) into the heat over the drag car accident – pun intended! You may have read about this crash in my blog posting dated May 30, 2012 titled "Putrajaya Drag Race That Went Wrong". The point is that Ahmad Shabery Cheek is passing the buck to MAM saying that the latter should be more pro-active by providing their advice on such motorsports to the ministry. “I cannot say that since nobody told me, I don't know," he said, insisting that MAM should be on top of the situation. WTF? 
The protests in Quebec, Canada continue. Arrêtez-moi quelqu'un! ("Someone stop me!") is a site where Quebeckers and their supporters around the world can post photos of themselves holding signs in which they state their intention to violate Special Law 78, which suspends the right to freedom of assembly in Quebec: "Nous nous engageons à continuer à lutter; à rester mobilisé•e•s, en vertu des libertés fondamentales. Si cela nous vaut des poursuites pénales en vertu de la loi 78, nous nous engageons à y faire face."
