Liverpool FC have appointed former Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers (above photo) as manager. He was the guy who led Swansea to promotion from the Championship (second division) via the playoffs in his first season and he followed this up by guiding Swansea to a respectable eleventh place finish in the EPL last season, their first campaign at the highest level since 1983.
Rodgers has promised he will "fight for his life" to bring success and ultimately the title to Anfield.

Also on Friday, I went to the MIHRM Toastmasters meeting where I was an evaluator to Francis Choong who ably demonstrated his vocal variety. How Yee also did her Ice Breaker and she continued to surprise me with her growing confidence and reined-in discipline. It was encouraging to see many MIHRM members in attendance yesterday – including Stephen Fernando! A 6 out of a 10 score for this meeting.
