Cantonese Song Viewed 100 Million Times

China Hong Kong rock group Beyond’s iconic classic “Hai Kuo Tian Kong” (海闊天空 or in English, Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies) has been viewed 100 million times on YouTube. 

It is the first Cantonese song to reach the milestone. 

Released in 1993, the song was included in the album Rock and Roll (樂與怒) that saw the four members (Wong Ka Kui on lead vocals and rhythm guitar; Yip Sai Wing on drums, percussion and vocals); Wong Ka Keung on bass guitar, acoustic guitar and vocals; and Paul Wong on lead guitar and vocals) collaborating for the last time*.

FYI, the said song was uploaded onto YouTube on September 14, 2011. At the time of my post, the music video has collected 100,255,694 views.

On Thursday, Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell took to Instagram to share that she and her brother, Finneas, will be appearing alongside “The Simpsons” family in the upcoming short titled “When Billie Met Lisa” for Disney Plus. 

The short premieres on April 22 and follows Lisa Simpson on her search for a quiet place to practice saxophone when she is suddenly discovered by the O'Connell siblings. The musical pair then invite Lisa over to Billie’s studio for a special jam session. 

The premiere for “The Simpsons” episode coincides with the young superstar’s Coachella performances, where she is set to hit the stage as the Saturday headliner today and on April 23. Billie Eilish returns to Indio after playing the festival in 2019; that performance is widely considered to be the show that launched her as a truly global act. She is also the youngest person in the history of Coachella to headline the arts and music festival at 20 years old. 

This upcoming release from “The Simpsons” is the fourth in a collection of shorts created exclusively for Disney+. Amongst them are Star Wars and Marvel-themed shorts “Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens from Its Nap’” and “The Good, The Bart, and The Loki”.
