Naturally, I was there too.
The late Hashim and I shared many milestones, but one special experience stands out.
When I set out to complete one of my Competent Communication manuals – having finished a total of 67 of them throughout my journey spanning 4,292 days – he boundlessly undertook the challenge to be my speech evaluator for all ten projects. Together, we traveled to ten different Toastmasters clubs in ten different locations, with him evaluating every single speech.
Standing among fellow Toastmasters on Tuesday reminded me that while people may leave us, the stories we share keep them alive. I am deeply grateful to have shared a stage, a journey, and a profound friendship with Hashim. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
