GE14 Battle for Malaysia: Update 11

PH win Kedah just barely – and they are one seat shy of forming a simple majority. They currently have 18 seats. 

PAS have 15 seats, while BN only three – and if BN and PAS join forces this will result in a hung assembly. 

If a hung assembly occurs, then it is the Sultan of Kedah's prerogative to decide who becomes the menteri besar. 

However, by convention, the Sultan will choose a representative from the party with the most seats. 

It should be mentioned here that Malaysiakini's tally of the parliamentary seats in GE14 reveals that Pakatan Harapan have 114 seats and therefore, they can form the federal government.
