EMCO in Selangor and Parts of KL

Malaysia is sinking deeper and deeper into a self-made hole we've dug for ourselves. I'm referring to our worsening Covid situation.

Hence, the Enhanced Movement Control Order gets going in 34 mukims (sub-districts) located in eight of the nine districts in Selangor (as well as 14 localities in Kuala Lumpur) for two weeks, starting today to July 16.

On the manufacturing side, only food factories and basic daily necessities such as rice, white bread, sugar, cooking oil, wheat flour, fresh milk, baby milk formula, medicines and face masks are allowed to operate.

This says it all! I was right when I said workplace clusters are responsible for a big percentage of Covid cases in Malaysia. And Selangor in particular, is under the EMCO because it is the most important manufacturing hub in the country.

In fact, the state’s Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari (left) confirmed that 91 percent of the total number of clusters in Selangor were workplace-related, of which a whopping 80 percent were from factory clusters and 11 percent from construction site clusters. These were part of the 125 total active clusters in the state.

And so, the EMCO shouldn't come as a surprise – the actual surprise is that the authorities took their own sweet time to take action.

The latest lockdown shows the twats and idiots in government wallow in the assumption that Covid will peter out over time because of their alphabet soup (MCO, CMCO, RMCO, FMCO, EMCO) policies. And they are blind to the fact that many of their flawed decisions accompanied by messy U-turns are turning the country into one ruinous calamity. Lives and livelihoods are being needlessly sacrificed by an illegitimate and illegal government, cut off from reality. It tells you they're so out of touch with sentiments on the ground.

In the meantime, cases are surging and I can bet you that my next daily Covid status report will still show high Covid numbers!
