Malaysians Are Told MCO 3.0 is a Success

It’s typical of the Malaysian government to put a spin on the Covid situation – as if the rakyat is so gullible.

The traitorous Azmin Ali who is the International Trade and Industry Minister on Friday crowed that MCO 3.0 has been successful in containing the Covid-19 pandemic.

Obviously, an empty boast because our caseload is still very high:

Why make an audacious and idiotic statement despite all the evidence telling us that the government have failed?

#KerajaanBodoh #KerajaanGagal

In the meantime, the backdoor prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin is confident herd immunity target is on schedule. I’m informed that Malaysia has administered at least 5.5 million doses of Covid vaccines so far. Assuming every person needs 2 doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 8.6% of the country’s population.

And vaccine coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin is expecting 80 percent of the total population in Labuan, Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak, and Selangor to be fully vaccinated with two doses by the end of August.

But really, we should not depend on vaccination as the only exit strategy.

Experts already caution that many estimates on inoculation targets required to achieve herd immunity could be oversimplified in the absence of enough scientific data on the vaccines' ability to cut transmission.
