TMJ Features in Ummah's 'Defend Islam' Rally

Yesterday, Gerakan Pembela Ummah organized yet another demonstration to supposedly defend the “sovereignty of Islam”.

Note that Ummah, a coalition of Muslim NGOs, had last year organised an anti-ICERD protest.

And interestingly, these rallies inevitably turned into anti-PH Government protests. Not surprising lah because most of the protestors are from UMNO and PAS and it is so damn obvious because they identify themselves through their party colors.

However, what was different this time around was that Ummah had made the Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim their standard-bearer.

Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin was right when he said Friday that Ummah have vested political interests. They have always misused race and religion and yesterday, it was royalty’s turn to be added to the volatile mix.

Shame on these buggers!

On Saturday, Celtic beat Aberdeen 3-0 and with this victory, they are crowned Scottish champions – a remarkable eight times in a row.

Yesterday’s title win is the Glasgow club’s 15th piece of silverware since this current run of dominance began in the 2011/12 season. In addition to the eight league titles, they also have won four League Cups and three Scottish Cups.

The first goal came from Callum McGregor’s angled cross that was met by Mikael Lustig, who threw himself at it and sent a cracking diving header past the Dons goalkeeper in the fortieth minute. Jozo Simunovic thundered a header in to make it two from an outswinging corner in the fifty-third minute before Odsonne Edouard drilled a low shot into the net in the eighty-eighth minute.

Now attention turns to an unprecedented treble-treble, with the Scottish Cup final with Hearts to come on May 25.
