Najib Razak is an Under-Performer

Mahathir Mohamad (left) continued his attack on Prime Minister Najib Razak. In an exclusive video interview with Perak Today, the former prime minister claimed Najib’s predecessor Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had performed better electorally. And that was in spite of the fact that he has a sleep disorder it was said that he slept more than he worked!
Mahathir said that Najib under-performed in GE13 when compared to Abdullah’s GE12’s performance. Najib only managed to obtain 130 seats versus Pak Lah’s 143.
Mahathir then mocked Najib’s policy of giving out cash handouts under the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) program – describing it as bribery. It didn’t even help Najib, he said. Some of the recipients were not the least bit grateful – rather, they continued to reject him.
Najib is a sitting duck. He seems at a loss as to how to fend off Mahathir. Believe me, the latter is not going to give up any time soon and only Najib’s resignation will spare him from more scathing attacks.
But then again, he cannot afford to quit. Losing everything is a very frightening prospect and what's more, there is no way wifey Rosmah Mansor will let him walk away.
I do believe Najib’s time is almost up. I shall give him at the most, another nine months. Personally, I would rather he stays on. Then when GE14 comes  it will surely be game over for Najib. And for BN.
I was in KL’s Jalan Bukit Bintang to attend the ITC Bintang Toastmasters meeting. I delivered CC speech #10 – my title was “Just Keep Going” – and I did well. For this round my twentieth CC  Benny Chia was my dedicated speech evaluator.
This meeting incorporated ‘open evaluations’ and I think it was a good move. Given that there are many good evaluators means that learning opportunities abound. I too learned and generally, it had been a good meeting. My score is an 8 over 10.
