Rosmah Mansor in Bangi

Didn't I tell you that the prime minister’s wife cannot resist not being in the news for too long? She craves publicity and she just loves the red-carpet treatment. She is Rosmah Mansor after all.

And Malaysians should rejoice that she is back in our fold because she finally made an appearance – yesterday! She was in Bangi, Selangor to address some people who attended a Perkasa camp. This was not the first time she had associated herself with Perkasa – in fact, I did blog about another event that she had attended previously. (Check out my blogpost dated February 20, 2012).

Anyway, she was lamenting that she and her husband (Najib Razak, in case you didn’t know!) couldn’t sleep at night. Not because the ringgit is nose-diving. Not because fuel prices are spiralling downward. Not because 1MDB is a ticking bomb just about ready to explode.  It is because of the ear-splitting racket caused by Mat Rempits outside their residence. She even described them as drug takers, gangsters and/or plain nuisances.

To her credit, she didn’t write off these wayward waifs. They may be among the main sources of social problems in the country, she said – but they could be helped to redeem themselves. “We shouldn’t give up on them,” Rosmah urged.

I do not completely disagree with her! I also couldn’t sleep well knowing our country is being run by idiots! And yes, I am not about to give up on Malaysia!

On Monday, I was at the KL Advanced Toastmasters meeting in KL Sentral. I took on two roles – as Grammarian and Table Topics Evaluator. I was not disappointed because there were good speeches and evaluations and the meeting ran like clockwork. A 7 over 10 score for this meeting.
