A Heartless Minister

Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor is hell-bent on showing how heartless he is when he directs soup kitchens that are providing food for the homeless to move out from a 2km radius of the Kuala Lumpur city center by Monday.

This came just a day after he said that beggars and those who donate to beggars will face action by the local authorities. He said at City Hall: “Every time the people give donations, we will issue a summons to the person and also the beggars. Since the person making the donation has a lot of money, they will be required to pay immediately”.

It is obvious he doesn’t recognize urban poverty. Nor the virtue of being charitable.

He tries to justify the above by saying that it is necessary to create a “disciplined society”. Evicting the poor is not the same as eradicating poverty.

As far as I am concerned, his conduct runs counter to the spirit of the Ramadhan fasting month. He is cruel. Callous. Cold-hearted.

Now you know why he and the other UMNO specimens are labelled "celaka”!
On Tuesday, I was at PJ’s Merchant Square to attend the Friendship Toastmasters meeting. I evaluated an Ice Breaker speech for a newly-joined member. I also took part in Table Topics and I received this certificate.

A good meeting that I enjoyed immensely. A 7.5 over 10 score.
