Gaga Applause

Lady Gaga invoked The Wizard of Oz for a performance of “Applause” on Good Morning America on September 09, 2013.

Beginning her set wearing the classic blue and white checked dress design as worn by Judy Garland in the beloved 1939 film, Gaga showed off her vocals with an acoustic rendition of Over The Rainbow. Surrounded by dancers dressed as The Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man from the film (and a fluffy dog in her basket) and with the studio audience wearing poppies on their heads, she announced ‘Well I live for your applause! Shall we make our way to Oz?’ before breaking into her new single while stepping down a make-shift yellow brick road.

Singing her track she made the now-obligatory four costume changes during the course of the routine – dressing as Glenda the good witch, and donning a green wig at certain points.

"I think it really is an explanation for my entire career so far. It’s my way of saying that all the outfits and wigs… this is my way of simulating and surviving and my way of getting to Oz and having all my dreams come true," Gaga revealed.

Yesterday, Celtic mauled Hearts 7-0 to progress to the last 16 of the Scottish Cup and soothe the pain of their inglorious European exit. The goals came from Kris Commons (3, 21, 59 – penalty), Scott Brown (34, 75), Joe Ledley (42), and Mikael Lustig (44).

In the EPL match between Liverpool and Hull City, also on Sunday, the Reds fell short again! They lost 1-3 to the latter. Steven Gerrard contributed the only goal in the 27th minute but Hull netted three through Jake Livermore (20), David Meyler (72) and Martin Skrtel (87, own goal). Brendan Rodgers, what say you?
