The Catholic Church Challenges "Allah" Ruling

The Catholic Church has taken the fight to use the word “Allah” to the next level, seeking answers to twenty-six questions on the Federal Constitution, administrative law as well as the power of the court to permit the Home Minister to ban the use of a theological word.

These questions were part of the application filed by church lawyers seeking leave to appear before the Federal Court to challenge the Court of Appeal's ruling on the “Allah” issue.

Yesterday, PAS vice-president Mahfuz Omar had asked the government to apologize to the Muslim community in the country for “creating an issue” out of the usage of the word "Allah" by Christians to worship God. Fellow PAS lawmaker Mujahid Yusof Rawa said PAS considered the whole issue a “non-issue”; it's UMNO. that is stirring trouble!

You may have realized that I had refrained from making any remarks about the Ipoh event. In this particular case, the less said, the better. And better still when I say nothing at all!
