US Has Most Known Covid-19 Cases Worldwide

Covid-19 is conquering the world – but one country has caught our collective attention and that country is the United States of America.

On Thursday, the country has more coroanvirus cases than any other country. Even beating China and Italy. There's no looking back for the US, I'm afraid!

Still, Donald Trump chooses to downplay the pandemic. As recent as Tuesday, he had said he wants the nation "opened up and just raring to go by Easter".

If he keeps ignoring the WHO cautionary that was also issued on the same day (read my post WHO Point to US as Potentially the Next Covid-19 Epicenter published Wednesday), he is surely putting his fellow Americans in grave danger.

Public health experts, including US Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams (left), have pointed out that the US could "become Italy", where doctors in hospitals overwhelmed by coronavirus patients have been forced to ration care and choose who gets a ventilator.

Health officials are already warning that many hospitals around the country may run out of beds within two weeks as cases continue rising.

As Covid-19 goes berserk, the precarious situation the country is finding itself in will simply see all hell break loose.

"I'm sure that this virus is just about everywhere", said Dr. William Schaffner (right), an infectious diseases professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Hang on tight, America, because you will bear witness to an exponential explosion in infections and deaths. It is not a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’.

Twenty-one days or thereabouts.

On Wednesday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (right) said that’s the timeline when he expects to see peak numbers, based on current projections.

Let's pray everybody is wrong. And Trump is right.
