International Women's Day 2020

To women everywhere! Happy International Women's Day!

Seven days later, it will be World Speech Day! WSD 2020 registrations are still streaming in – and already, the total stands at 180:

Yesterday, I represented KPP Toastmasters Club at the Joint Areas D2-D3 ISTT Contests @ Menara Gamuda in PJ Trade Center, Damansara Perdana in Selangor – just so, I could finish two speech assignments. After all, nobody from the club volunteered to compete at this Area-level competition.

I presented my speech project #878 and it was a CC#10 Inspire Your Audience titled The Long and Winding Road. And this was for my Competent Communication manual #67.

I had picked Ang Sher Lyn (right up front) to give me a written evaluation – and I can tell you she was honest and not afraid to call a spade a spade.

Ang had come to support her fellow club members from EcoWorld Toastmasters Club who were also competing but under Area D3.

Incidentally, both Chin Hui Ling and Lee Chin Yee were only placed third in the International Speech and Table Topics contests respectively. Personally, I believe they deserved a higher placing – but what do I know, right?

If I may add, Chin had demonstrated massive leaps in her speech delivery – and I am very proud of her!

I also took part in the Area D2 Table Topics contest and I triumphed.

In any case, I won’t be proceeding to Division-level as this “ABCDEFG” (I know, right – it's a weird title for a Table Topics!) impromptu speech was made to fulfill my TT speech requirement for my Competent Leadership manual #30 that I am hoping to complete before month’s end.

Actually, less than 24 days now.
