2019-nCoV: A Pesky Pest

As of February 04 midnight, China’s National Health Commission said there were 24,324 cases tested for the novel coronavirus. Also, 490 people had died and 892 patients had been discharged from hospitals.

I refer to https://thewuhanvirus.com and it reveals that the number of infections have shot up to 24,587 with 492 deaths thus far.

One can remain optimistic about the numbers because the recovery total has surpassed those who have succumbed to 2019-nCoV. If this is not good news, I don’t know what is!

Last evening, I was in Subang Jaya, Selangor for the Extol Toastmasters meeting – where I took up the roles of Toastmaster, Prepared Speaker, Speech Evaluator and General Evaluator.

My speech was a CC#4 titled A Pesky Pest – and of course, it refers to that virus that the whole world seems terrified about. I gave it a humorous twist, admitting that if I must go, I would rather die from a Corona drinking binge than from a pesky pest that is the 2019-nCoV!

Anyway, I was voted Best Speaker – and this completes my Competent Communication manual #66:

And so, I have now garnered 128 Toastmasters awards – with two more to go before I achieve my personal KPI!

That being said, I note that only 55 days remain before I quit Toastmasters!
