Thank You, Firies!

Australia’s Sydney Opera House illuminated its sails on Saturday night in a show of support for fire-hit communities around the country and the firefighters defending them.

The display began about 8:30 PM and saw scenes of hope from the last three months of the fire crisis projected onto the building’s famous sails, remaining lit until 11 PM.

As Opera House chief executive Louise Herron said: "We are lighting the Opera House sails to show our collective support for everyone affected by these devastating fires and to express our deepest gratitude to the emergency services and volunteers for their incredible efforts and courage.

As difficult circumstances continue, we want to send a message of hope and strength to the people of Australia".

Hear, hear!

Liverpool may not have been at their best yesterday – there were even worrisome spells in the second half when they looked jaded – but the fact of the matter is we beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0.

Roberto Firmino’s neat 37th-minute sidestep and thumping finish earned us another 3 precious points.

One senses the Reds’ growing momentum to end that long wait to reclaim our perch at the summit of the English game.

After all, this stat says it all: Liverpool have 61 points in the Premier League in 2019-20 – the most any side has ever registered after 21 games in a single season across Europe's big five leagues (assuming three points for a win).

Next, Liverpool welcome Manchester United to Anfield in our next Premier League fixture on Sunday, January 19. And I can't wait!
