Wakanda Was a Real Country

Do you know that Wakanda, the make-believe east African country that was featured in Black Panther did exist?

For awhile at least. Yes, the fictional country was actually listed as a free trade partner of the United States of America!

Indeed, the Marvel superhero's home country was identified on the drop-down menu for the agriculture department’s foreign agricultural service’s tariff tracker along with Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Peru.

Anyway, the comic book country was deleted from the US Department of Agriculture website on Wednesday.

The USDA had since clarified that the vibranium-rich country was used to test systems and was not meant to remain visible.

Now, I am inclined to believe that the Marvel Universe exists too!

Last evening, I was at Jalan PJS 8/4 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor for the KPP Toastmasters meeting. I offered to be the Toastmaster.

Having taken up this meeting role, I have likewise completed my CL manual. Meaning, I can now add another Toastmasters accolade – my 27th Competent Leader award  to my record of achievements:

Besides that, I also presented a CC#4 speech (in Malay, of course) “Cinta Pandang Pertama” (Love at First Sight).

Again, this was for my Competent Communication manual, #64:

Only seven of us made it to Sunway Mentari; in any case, it was a cozy meeting. As always!
